Information about 4G Interference
4G Interference and Log Periodic Antenna
Log Periodic Aerial
What is all the fuss?

In the past the old television frequencies ran from channel 21, ( or 471.25 mhz ) to channel 68, (860.25 mhz).
Each channel, 21-68 was being used by a transmitter somewhere in the country to transmit television pictures.

The government has just sold channels 61-68 to the 4G network of mobile operators for approx 2.3 billion.

The problem is that some transmitters transmit on, or near those frequencies and it will cause interference to the television pictures of some two million households nationally.

£180 million has been set aside for the problem and filters will be made available to the households affected, (but not someone to fit it! ) and the over 75s and vunerable will get extra help. For those people where filters prove ineffective , they will be offered help to fit Freesat, ( instead of freeview ).
Whats the answer?

At Halifax and Sowerby Bridge TV Aerial & Satellite Services we recommend that wherever possible a Log Periodic Aerial should be used. From a technical standpoint they are the most balanced aerial ever produced and will greatly reduce, if not eliminate any 4G interference that may occur.

( balanced = the signal gain from one channel or frequency to another varies very little giving the same pick up on all channels, this is very different from a grouped Aerial )

If you are getting an Aerial fitted Halifax and Sowerby Bridge TV Aerial and Satellite Services recommends that you request this particular Aerial
